Level 2 Award in Conflict Management (RQF)

This accredited qualification meets the requirements of anyone with a customer-facing role who deals with service users or the general public. It is also relevant to those who would like a better understanding of the prevention of conflict, giving them more confidence in dealing with situations as they arise.

This qualification is generic and can be applied to a wide range of learners and sectors. Subjects covered by the conflict management qualification include legislation, clear communication, proactive service delivery, situation assessment and managing unrealistic expectations.

Following the completion of this award the learner will know how to:

  • communicate to solve problems and reduce the potential for conflict
  • identify the factors that influence human responses in conflict situations
  • assess and reduce risks in conflict situations

Progressive Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA)

Our PMVA course delves into the management of violence, aggression and challenging behaviour. This incorporates physical and non-physical approaches suitable for Local Authority (LAs), educational establishments, care facilities, family homes and NHS environments. Our system is designed and delivered in order to provide safety to our clients and staff and is flexible to allow for complete bespoke packages. Our PMVA course is delivered in line with Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards.

This training course comprises of understanding and using conflict management to defuse challenging behaviour, de-escalating aggressive behaviour, physical and non-physical defensive strategies, guiding techniques, control and restraint and safer-holding techniques.

Our course has been designed from the ground up whilst we work alongside the young people and adults we support in various settings. Therefore, we know that this system works and when used correctly, will ultimately keep our clients and the staff team safe.

This training enables progression on to the ‘Delivery of Progressive Management of Violence and Aggression’ instructor course.

Entry Requirements:

Prior to attending our PMVA course, learners should have previousy completed a minimum of a Level 2 Conflict Mangement course that is registered on the RQF. Whilst there are no further specific requirements to attend this training, it is strongly recommended that learners hold an emergency first aid at work qualification or equivalent, and hold a level 1 or above in literacy and numeracy. Learners must be 18 years of age or older to commence the training.

All successful candidates will be issued with a Progressive Management of Violence and Aggression Certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Our Full PMVA course is a combination of the Conflict Management and PMVA courses. If this is an area of training that you are new to, it is a great way to learn both skills at the same time so that you can practice using your new techniques immediately.
